Home Inventory : iPhone Application
There hasn’t been any simple technological solution yet available for stocking all your stuffs like furniture, dishes, flatware, tools, DVD, video games, books etc. All these stuffs are worth something which if lost you would have to spend money to replace them. Some apps have been launched for the iPhone and iPod touch which will allow you to organize all your possessions and thus it will help you save lots of your precious time. The new iInvetory, Gotta Have it software’s home inventory by Kilmer software and My Stuff by Rick Maddy’s all of these can be used in organizing your stuff but each of them work differently.
These apps have security measures and online back up facilities. These apps require manual input of all the information. You have to do tedious job of entering author, publisher, ISBN, and other data to these apps. Gotta Have It Software’s Home Inventory asks you to create a user name and password before using the app. after you are done with that you can enter the app and start entering item information from a series of categories or by location in your home. The Home Inventory is customizable and allows you to back up your data to a remote server conveniently and securely. You can also add none photos of each item together with information on insurance policies. You can have detailed summary reports in PDF format. My Stuff has more intelligent and graphically appealing interface like when you add a book there is option of author, publisher, etc. and when you add any electronic appliance there is option of make, model, serial no etc. You can enter a pin number so that there is secure access and backup your data wirelessly is easy enough.
